My interest in the local community lead me to offer my services to Keynsham Action Network, a local organisation whose aim it is to bring people – especially those who are isolated – together.
Work to date has included a redesign of their logo, creation of community brochures, complete redesign of their website using WordPress as a back-end and I have also produced brand guidelines.
Ammonites are synonymous with Keynsham and appear set into many of Keynsham’s old stone walls. A myth tells of the wandering St Kenya turning vicious swamp snakes to stone and making Keynsham habitable in the process. Playing on the myth, I created the logo to represent both Keynsham and the idea of togetherness and community spirit, also employing the ammonite’s spiral shape. Unlike the ammonite, I explored the idea of sharp edges, to spark and “pulse” through a reinvigorated community.
